Jenn Meredith Castillo
XPT Co Creator
Jenn began playing volleyball at an early age in San Diego. She attended Torrey Pines High School where she was named CIF Player of the Year (San Diego County). She was highly recruited as a setter and hitter and went on to play at Pepperdine University on a full athletic scholarship. After graduating with a Bachelors’ degree in Physical Education, Jennifer began her impressive professional beach career on the Bud Light Four-Person Tour in 1994. She then joined the women's beach doubles tour in '97. For almost a decade, Jennifer was one of the top 10 team doubles beach player in the sport. During that time she played with many of the best partners in the game such as Leanne Shuster, Nancy Mason, Wendy Stammer, Patty Dodd, Carrie Busch, Katy Ripp, Jen Pavley, Jennifer Kessey, and Kerri Walsh. Jennifer was selected as Co-Rookie of the Beach and played in 3 Queen of the Beach events. She retired from professional beach volleyball in 2005.
During the ups and downs of the beach tours Jenn became an elementary school teacher for LAUSD. She was a substitute teacher in various cities of Los Angeles and eventually taught her own 3rd grade class for three years. Teaching was one of Jenn's passions besides volleyball, but when the tour added more cities to the schedule she had to give up teaching and train/compete full time.
After pro beach retirement, she received her personal training certification and was an admin assistant for Jane Kachmer management. For 3 years she was a personal trainer to top executives and other prominent clientele and began to learn the business of Hollywood. In 2008, Jenn fully entered the field of sports management. She currently works as the brand manager for Gabrielle Reece and Laird Hamilton. Her responsibilities now include overseeing their websites, social media, PR as well as coordinating the efforts of their different agents and management companies. Jenn is a also partner of HIGHX and Co Creator of XPT.
